The overuse of fanciful jargon in the psychotherapy industrial complex is not an accident. It is reflective of a larger tendency to fall back on opaque but accessible terminology to describe human suffering, and to claim to treat it, especially when one is not adequately trained and is intellectually not-so-humble.
